I followed with interest the "Herd About Buffalo" campaign, and thought it was one of the best marketing campaigns in a long time. Not only did it get the local artists involved, it generated a lot of talk and publicity. The buffalos were each so unique - something only the artist community could do. Then to see them all over town, was fantastic. So when I heard about the squirrels, I just had to participate. With a background in graphic design, I faced challenges that I never had to before, but I was determined to make Ronald Squirrel come to life. Well, at least a reality. I am not a 3D artist, but I figured, no one else would do Ronald. The idea was to have something that appealed to kids. Ronald appeals to kids, so, being the owner of the local McDonald's, Ronald was the obvious choice. I had a lot of fun doing the squirrel, and give Amy much credit for her wonderful foresight and enthusiasm for the project.

Bio:

Melissa Meyers has an Associate in Art degree from JCC and Bachelor's in Graphic Design from Buffalo State College. She participated in the Allentown Art Festival. Melissa currently owns and operates 4 local McDonald's and enjoys creating the ads and website for them. Melissa resides in Allegany, NY with her husband, Dave and 2 teenage sons.
