Woodland in the City is a public art display designed to celebrate the arts in Olean,showcase the creativity of an area artists, exemplify our natural surroundings, encourage commerce/tourism and beautify the landscape of Olean. The city-wide art display is the first phase planned by the committee.

    A common vision of preserving Olean's history and promoting the natural beauty of the unique surroundings is the focus of the committee that was formed in February 2006. The Woodland in the City Committee believes that creating a city rich in cultural experiences will increase year-round tourism, attract new businesses and as a result, improve the quality of life for citizens of Olean.

    All proceeds from the sponsor a squirrel fundraising project will benefit a children's hands-on learning museum and art space based on the history of Olean and it's natural surroundings, located in Olean. The Woodland in the City Fund is a non-profit organization of the Cattaraugus Region Community Foundation.
